KS2 Tutors Who Are We?
Affordable English, Maths and Digital Skills Support
KS2 Tutors provides more affordable English, Maths and Digital Skills support to children and adults aged 7+. Our mission is to develop the skills and confidence in children and adults, to help them reach their full potential. This tuition can be provided online and in person (based in Worcester only at present). KS2 Tutors will work with the parents, the school and the student to follow an individualised and sequential learning plan to boost the skills and knowledge in the necessary areas.
What subjects do you offer for tutoring?
Currently, we offer English and Maths tutoring. We are looking to expand this in future, focusing on Digital Skills first (ICT).
What age groups and grade levels do you cater to?
We support children from age 7, up to GCSE/functional skills level.
How do I sign up for tutoring sessions?
To sign up, complete an enquiry form and we will be in touch to ask you some questions. We will arrange the tutoring sessions after your initial enquiry.
How are your tutors selected and qualified?
We select our tutors based on their educational background/ qualifications. We need to ensure our tutors have the knowledge and experience of the subjects we deliver. Tutors could be university students or they could come from a teaching background. We also select tutors based on their passion for KS2’s mission and their passion for progressing our learning community.
What are the differences between online and face-to-face tutoring?
The only difference is the preference. Online teaching can be better than you think, with a range of techniques used. Online tutoring can save fuel costs and travel time but you need to have access to a computer screen for it to work.
Face-to-face tutoring will only take place at the tutor’s residence, we don’t travel to you. We will ensure the safety of our learners and parents can remain close by.
Face-to-face tutoring is thought to build a rapport quicker, and in some cases that is correct (but not all).
How long is each tutoring session and how often are they held?
Each tutoring session is 60 minutes.
Can I choose my tutor or switch to a different tutor if necessary?
Yes, if there is availability.
What platforms or tools do you use for online tutoring?
We access Century Tech to assess learners, this is a great tool that also provides access to online learning resources that can be used during our sessions or between each tutoring session.
We also use the feedback from schools to identify focal points, in this case Century Tech may not be used. Instead we use resources from CGP and Twinkle to support the learning.

Do you offer any discounts or promotions for new students?
We are keeping costs low due to our mission of providing more affordable tuition.
We are working to obtain grants and other funding sources to cover these costs. This project will not be launched to its full effect until 2024, but we will work with schools to identify children who need this support.
Can I schedule a free trial session before committing to a plan?
All of our sessions require payment but you can choose to stop our service if you don’t feel it is right for you or your child.
How can I track my progress or my child's progress in tutoring?
Progress takes time and it is important to remember that. You can discuss progress with your tutor and they can establish the best way to capture this. Century Tech is a great tool to track progress and parents can get access too.
Progress can also be seen at school, especially during assessments.
What are the cancellation and refund policies?
We have 24 hour notice policy. We don’t have a refund policy, only that you can cancel our service at any time. If the tuition session has been completed, the tutor will receive the payment.
If you would like to raise a complaint regarding your tutoring experience, please email us.
How do you ensure the safety and privacy of students during tutoring sessions?
Safety is our priority. Firstly, we require our tutors to have a DBS check. If a parent requires, they can observe the session through Google Meet. We don’t recommend that parents sit next to children during the tutoring session as it can be off-putting.
We try to ensure there is a suitable place for parents to wait during the tutoring session, which is close by.
How can I provide feedback or communicate with the tutor regarding the student's needs and progress?
You will have regular contact at the start and end of each tutoring session and you can communicate via email or telephone.
Do you offer customized lesson plans tailored to individual learning needs and goals?
We always consider every learner’s needs. We ask questions at the start and adapt as we go along.
Can your tutors help with test preparation and standardised exams?
Yes, we are happy to.
Do you provide any additional resources or materials for practice and reinforcement?
Century Tech is a tool that can be used for additional practice.
How do you accommodate students with learning differences?
We understand that one shoe does not fit all and we adapt. We listen to the learners needs and we put in place what already works. We will speak with the learner and/or the parent to ask questions and we will keep communicating to ensure the best service is provided.
