Affordable English, Maths and Digital Skills Support

 My name is Charli (yes, I spell it without the ‘e’ on the end), the founder of KS2 Tutors, and I want to put my skills to good use to offer quality support without the expensive price tag. In 2014 I began delivering intervention in English and Maths to year groups 1-6, of various abilities. The results were successful and the focus groups raised the confidence of the children and ultimately their performance. In 2016 I moved into adult education, one of my focal areas was delivering functional skills English and Maths, which is the equivalent to GCSE grade 4. There was (and still is) a huge skills gap relating to English and Maths and my experience has taught me that my functional skills learners lacked the skills that I taught to my Key Stage 2 learners.

Once my learners had mastered the Key Stage 2 skills, they found the higher content easier to understand. Therefore, the Key Stage 2 curriculum is a crucial level to grasp before moving on to KS3 and above. This is why we are called KS2 (Key Stage 2) Tutors. Of course, it might be obvious that you need to know KS2 before you can learn KS3 (and so on), however, everyone learns in different ways and at different paces, and it is common to feel performance anxiety. This performance anxiety can interrupt the brain’s processing of information, meaning that the knowledge and skills that are being taught and practiced in the classroom may not be successfully received. This is where one-to-one tuition can reduce that anxiety and support the success of increased knowledge and skills to improve performance, confidence for future learning.
